Carolina acquired her commerce degree from the University of Toronto and became a CGA in 1995. Her experience is well-rounded as she has worked with a wide variety of business entities including family businesses, private corporations and public corporations.

Michael is the prototypical Canadian entrepreneur. He has run small family businesses, wholesale distribution organizations and a publicly traded company over the span of his 35-year career.
Michael’s specialty is in the areas of accounting, finance and operations. His services include corporate financing strategies and operations strategies.

Stapley

Stapley graduated with a General Business diploma from Conestoga College in 2015. She began working in Financial Institutions after graduating and remained in that sector for 3 years. Her career shifted to Public Accounting in 2018 where she worked as a Staff Accountant. Stapley started with Business Affairs in 2023. She is our Senior Accountant focusing on all aspects of Corporate and Personal returns. Outside of the office she enjoys volunteering with the Canadian Animal Assistance Team providing veterinary care to remote areas of Canada. She also volunteers as the treasurer of her local Community Centre.

Throughout my career, I’ve developed deep expertise in financial reporting, tax compliance, and client advisory services.
I am also hard of hearing—a challenge that has shaped my journey but never limited my drive or performance. I believe my technical knowledge, analytical mindset, and strategic thinking bring more value to clients than any limitation ever could. Outside of work, I enjoy walking and strive to hit 10,000 steps a day—it keeps me energized and focused. I’m also passionate about giving back and regularly volunteer my accounting and consulting services to local charities.

Edrian holds a Bachelor of Science in Management Accounting, which he completed in 2013. His professional journey began as an Inventory Controller in a major beverage manufacturing firm, followed by a role as a Junior Accountant in a real estate company. He then progressed to a Revenue Auditor role, where he conducted audits for multiple establishments under one corporate entity. In 2018, Edrian transitioned to a Staff Accountant role at another firm before joining Paul Accounting/Business Affairs in 2021, also as a Staff Accountant. Outside of his professional life, Edrian is an avid outdoorsman with an active lifestyle. He enjoys participating in running events and spends his summers hiking and camping in various locations, sometimes staying at cottages to explore new areas. In the winter, he enjoys cabin stays and other winter activities.

Renu Chand is a Operational Manger with extensive experience in operations management and strategy development. She focuses on customer relationship management and understands that the accounting business is based on relationships and trust with clients first, and then on accounting needs.

Career Trajectory

Renu graduated with a master’s degree in business administration in 2008. She has gained extensive experience working for Foreign Exchange boutiques focusing on money management services. As Operations Manager for a multinational company, she set up their footprint in Ontario, adding valuable skills. She joined Paul’s accounting firm in 2012 and manages all client onboarding, setup of various professional incorporations, assistance with clients’ banking needs, CRA inquiries, and resolutions. She also specializes in customized setups of accounting solutions (software integrations) as per the client’s industry.

Family

In her spare time, Renu enjoys playing board games with children, ages 14 and 11. She looks forward to watching them play soccer and basketball. She loves watching videos of her nieces and nephews growing up.

Amit Paul

Career

Paul has gained extensive experience working for leading accounting firms and corporate controllership in the healthcare industry. During his tenure, he acquired various accounting and tax skills, including expertise in complex intercompany transactions, corporate structures, and tax planning strategies. During his association with top tax and corporate lawyers, he was able to obtain favourable tax resolutions for clients, as well as successfully handle complex acquisition and merger projects for the healthcare industry.

Additionally, Paul has successfully advised companies focusing on research and development in securing millions of dollars in government grants.

In 2014, Paul founded his accounting firm, focusing on accounting and advisory services. In 2023, Paul Group acquired Business Affairs and is now the preferred firm for professionals in the healthcare industry, serving veterinary practices, dentists, and physicians.

In addition to focusing on financial performance, he emphasizes a bigger picture, long-term strategy and tax advisory based on intergenerational wealth planning. Paul is an accountant with an entrepreneurial mindset.
